Dr. Raad Al-Tal is the current chairman of the Economics Department at the University of Jordan. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom and specializes in macroeconomic and monetary economics and economic modeling.
In 2016, he was awarded the Hussein Fund for Excellence in Economic Research Award for the best master’s thesis in the field of economic growth and sustainable development. He also received a PhD scholarship for distinguished students from the Economics Department at the University of Jordan.
Dr. Al-Tal played a significant role as a member of the economic modernization vision team at the Royal Hashemite Court, contributing to the preparation of the macroeconomic model for the vision. His diverse responsibilities have included directing and supervising trainee projects at the Crown Prince Foundation, reviewing for several economic scientific journals, and serving as a member of the research faculty at the Institute of Political and Social Sciences. Additionally, he supervised the University of Jordan’s radio station and worked as an economic researcher, official spokesperson, and secretary of the Anti-Corruption and Integrity Commission.
Dr. Al-Tal has published several studies and research papers in macroeconomics, corruption economics, and applied econometrics. He also writes a weekly economic column in the Jordanian newspaper Al-Ghad.
